Broadband Infraco Workers embark on strike

Johannesburg – Broadband Infraco workers are set to go on strike after a breakdown in wage talks between the company and the Communication Workers Union (CWU).

The union sent Broadband Infraco an intention to strike and protesters will gather outside the company’s Johannesburg offices.

The dispute concerns salary increases for the current financial year. Workers are demanding annual salary increase of [xxx%] and the company is has offered an annual salary increase of [xxx%].

Broadband Infraco confirmed the strike‚ saying contingency plans had been put in place to avoid disruptions on business.

Guests are requested to note that the one-day protest action where Broadband Infraco management will receive a memorandum of grievances from organised labour.

Broadband Infraco Chief Human Resources Officer, [Name and Surname] said that management would welcome further discussions and consultations with the unions on the matter and provide more clarity where required.
