Free internet connectivity to 480 COVID-19 mission critical health centres across the country is being provided by YahClick, the leading satellite broadband service from the UAE-based global satellite operator, Yahsat, and its partner Hughes Network Systems.
YahClick is partnering with the Department of Communication & Digital Technologies (DCDT) to deliver satellite broadband to health centres in rural communities across all nine provinces, significantly aiding their COVID-19 treatment and prevention efforts.
This crucial connectivity will enable remote facilities to transfer patient files and carry out statistical reporting and medical analysis quickly and effectively. It will also enhance the patient experience of care, quality, access and reliability.
YahClick is providing its services at no cost for six months; with the roll-out expected to be complete by the end of September 2020.
Delivered through YahClick’s AY2 and AY3 satellites, using the latest Hughes Gateway and Ground Segment technology¬, the service applies the efficiencies provided by the reusable ka-band satellite frequency, and is powered by multi-spot beam technology to make satellite broadband affordable and dependable in areas where there is limited, or no, terrestrial infrastructure.
